Description
I participated in the Mechanical Engineering Co-Op at Phoenix Tailings, a startup aiming to become the first sustainable mining company during the summer of 2023. I greatly enjoyed my time there and got to work on a number of different projects from rapid prototyping to larger endeavors, while also gaining a much greater appreciation for chemistry! I especially liked being able to use the facilities at CorLabs, the maker-space next door, and leverage the skills I have gained in the Olin Shops to tackle more complicated projects with difficult materials. I found the fast paced and collaborative start-up culture to be very compelling, and I hope to continue working in the start-up space in the future.
